Principal's Message

It is an honor to introduce myself as the Proud Principal at Ricardo Lizarraga Elementary. I was born and raised in the Pico Union community of downtown Los Angeles, a bilingual daughter of immigrant parents, and a proud LAUSD scholar kindergarten through 12th grade. 

 

My early years defined me as an At-Promise Emergent Bilingual and GATE scholar who later went on to complete college and graduate degrees as a first generation Latinx student. My leadership is defined by the student I once was. I continue to lead with a firm purpose that the educational experience for every student is supportive, empowering, and driven by a sense of possibility. My vision for school transformation begins with leading with heart along with nurturing relationships with staff, students, and their families.

 

On behalf of our staff, it is my pleasure to welcome all our families to Ricardo Lizarraga Elementary. We are looking forward to an exciting school year where our goal is to provide the best environment for your child to learn and thrive. At Lizarraga we encourage your son or daughter to be a creative and critical thinker as we work in partnership with teachers, staff, student and parents to ensure your child reaches their maximum potential. Our motto at Lizarraga Elementary is NEVER NEVER NEVER GIVE UP as we encourage and celebrate growth, perseverance and learning from every lion scholar.
